The teaching staff at New Hope Cambodia have reacted quickly to setup alternative ways to offer lessons during COVID Lockdown.
Online Learning
For students that have access to a smart phone, tablet or computer:
From April to June 2021, they have implemented Khmer Pre-school, Khmer Primary, English and Local Life Skills for Young Learners, as follows:
- Khmer Pre-school (4 to 5 years old) for 33 students have accessed the online lessons using Microsoft Team, Telegram, and Facebook Messenger.
- Khmer Primary School (Grades 1 to 5) 226 students, studied online using Microsoft Team, Telegram, and Facebook Messenger. While 28 students studied through worksheets.
The primary subjects taught by Microsoft Team are Khmer, Mathematics, and English.
- English and Local Life Skills for Young Adult Learners: 159 students, learned English online using Microsoft Team, Telegram, and Facebook Messenger. Students studied local life skills and other subjects through research using teacher questionnaires to reach online through websites.
Level 3, Level 4, and Level 5 English students have been learning English directly with Strive2Thrive English teachers from the United States.
Strive2Thrive EDU TEAM has agreed to provide online tutoring twice a week for one hour each day for three months.
